It looks like we finally have the release date for the Droid X2: May 26th.
The dual-core running, 4.3-inch screen-sporting Droid X2 has the same look and feel as the original Droid X - which certainly isn’t a bad thing for fans of the original. The device also ships with an 8-megapixel camera, HDMI input (with mirroring functionality), and Mobile Hotspot capabilities. All that for $199 and a two-year contract.
The Droid X2 comes running Android 2.2, though Verizon says a 2.3 update will arrive soon after. We’re not quite sure why Honeycomb won’t be included from the beginning, but it’s better late then never, as they say.
Pre-orders for the device start May 19th.
